Are you still weighing the pros and cons of studying overseas? Be prepared to add another bullet to the list of reasons why you should study abroad! Università Iuav di Venezia – known as one of the world’s best in Architecture, Art, and Design – has opened a new scholarship in Italy. This time, the opportunity is exclusively for international students. 

What you need to know about the [e protected] Program

  • [e protected] is open for high-achieving international students who want to take up Bachelor of Arts programs or Master of Arts programs
  • Enrollment period must be during the academic year 2019/20
  • 5 scholarship slots available
  • 20 tuition fee waivers available
  • Awarded scholarships and tuition fee waivers may overlap with each other

Who can apply for this scholarship in Italy?

International students of any nationality may apply for an undergraduate degree or a master’s degree under this scholarship. Candidates must have valid academic qualifications obtained from schools or universities located outside of Italy. 

What requirements do I need to submit with my application?

Application requirements for Bachelor of Arts programs:

  • PDF copy of your valid ID OR passport
  • Your curriculum vitae
  • PDF copy of your high school diploma OR high school mark sheet
  • Declaration of Value (Dichiarzione de Valore) OR an ENIC-NARIC Certificate attesting to your qualification as a candidate OR an Italian translation of your diploma
  • Certificate of National Higher Education Entrance Examination, if it is a requirement for eligibility to enroll in undergraduate programs in the country where you have studied high school
  • Eventual proof that you are knowledgeable in the Italian language

Application requirements for Master of Arts programs:

  • PDF copy of your valid ID OR passport
  • Your curriculum vitae
  • PDF copy of your Bachelor’s Degree and transcript of records
  • Declaration of Value (Dichiarzione de Valore) OR an ENIC-NARIC Certificate attesting to your qualification as a candidate OR an Italian translation of your diploma
  • Certificate of National Higher Education Entrance Examination, if it is a requirement for eligibility to enroll in undergraduate programs in the country where you have studied high school
  • Eventual proof that you are knowledgeable in the Italian language

Students still in the process of earning their diploma at the time of application can submit a letter of enrollment along with your official high school mark sheet OR your university Transcript of Records (TOR).

How will the beneficiaries for the [e protected] Program be selected?

Applications for Bachelor’s and Master’s programs will thoroughly be examined by an appointed commission. Each candidate will be ranked according to the following criteria:

  • up to 50 points for CV and background of studies
  • up to 25 points for candidates with either the status of refugee, a person needing international protection, or a national of one of the developing countries identified by the Italian government (Decree No. 1455 of 09/06/2017)
  • up to 25 points for an Italian language certification

Università Iuav di Venezia will publish candidate rankings by September 9, 2019.

How can selected beneficiaries accept their award?

So let’s say you win one of those coveted slots for the Arts program of your dream. Bravissimo! Before you pack your bags and hop onto a plane to the City of Canals, you should take the necessary procedures to confirm your acceptance of the award first. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Complete the enrollment procedure by November 30, 2019. Your award will be deemed forfeited otherwise.
  • Carry out pre-enrollment procedures at the Italian Embassy in your country. Secure your student visa this way.

If ever you do change your mind about accepting the award, you may e your renouncement of the scholarship or tuition fee waiver to [e protected]. This will allow other hopefuls a chance at studying in Italy!
